Testemonials:
Brian W reports:
Ed, the hunt was absolutely phenominal. I have been on numerous guided hunts in the states but this was by far the best. James has a great operation and great people. I will definitely be returning in a few years. I would be going back sooner, but I am going all out with my taxidermy and getting several full body mounts done, so I will obviously be spending a few extra bucks.

Believe it or not, with all of the animals I hunted, the springbuck was my favorite. There was something about this little guy that just intrigued me. When I return I will have to shoot the black, white and golden for a grand slam.

My PH Hennie was the greatest. I also got to spend some time with the PH's that are brothers - Morris and Gerrie. They are also great guys.

Ed, please feel free to use me as a reference for the Africa hunt. And just some info for you if you use me as a reference - I hunted kudu, impala, blesbuck, springbuck, bushbuck, blue wildebeest, zebra, warthog, bushpig and duiker, hunting on 9 different farms.

Thanks for a great hunt.
Brian
Jan H reports:
Ed,

We've been back since Tues, Aug 12. We had a fantastic trip; the hunt was great. I got gemsbok, impala, springbok, bushbuck, and blesbok. Brian shot kudu, wildebeest, impala, bushbuck, and blesbok. Brian is psyched and ready to go again. Our PH is a great hunting machine! The entire trip minus the flight over and back was A++++++. If you ever need references, have them contact me.

Thanks again for making all of this possible.
Jan H

General information:

Click On Photo To Enlarge Hunting Africa is the lifelong dream of many sportsmen. We have designed our packages to bring Africa within reach of everyone. This hunt takes place in the Eastern Cape area of South Africa. This is a region of varied terrain from fertile valleys to steep mountains. It is home to large numbers of game. The Karoo is cattle and sheep country much like the American South West. Many of the farmers allow us to manage game on their property for extra income. Eighty percent of our hunting takes place on the open range with standard cattle and sheep fencing. The other twenty percent is on high fence ranches. Certain species can only be hunted year round in a high fence area, thus we need to use these properties as well.

We use different hunting techniques, this is usually dictated by the level of disability as well as the hunters preference.

  • South AfricaWalk and stalk and ambush: The hunter is carried into an ambush position in the portable chair by the 4 carriers. Due to the nature of the terrain disabled hunters usually have to make use of the ambush method but, where possible, 'walk-and-stalk' hunts are also conducted. In the hunting areas, many ridges overlook kloofs, gulleys and terraces and when hunters go after kudu, impala, blue wildebeest, mountain reedbuck or even bushbuck, they are carried in the chair along these ridges early in the morning and/or late in the afternoon. We stop frequently to glass for game. If the hunter cannot shoot from the spot, we work out an approach route and 'stalk' (carry him) closer to the animal.

  • Quad Bike and Blind: We have ATV's which we drive around the bush, find a suitable site and sit out and wait for a shot. We also carry portable pop-up blinds that fit around the ATV.

Click On Photo To Enlarge Trophy quality is guaranteed because of our trophy game management policies. Only mature animals are taken and a limited quota is set for each property. This allows a large number of animals on the land and also gives them time to mature into the quality trophies you seek. Our animals are all natural production and not bought at action and stocked. Our exclusive leases with landowners assures that we are the only ones taking the prime specimens off their properties. Seasons are reversed in South Africa from North America. May-August is winter and temperatures can get quite cold. Perfect hunting weather! Nov through March has warm to hot days followed by warm evenings. We usually hunt early and late this time of year with plenty of time to relax during the day.

We have over 30 000ha in which to hunt in this area. The veld is varied - rolling hills with deep kloofs, open acacia thornveld and dense bushveld and patches of open grassland.

Click On Photo To Enlarge We now have a wheel chair friendly lodge which sleeps 4 disabled people. We have all the proper equipment, facilities and experienced guides to make sure your stay is comfortable and susessfull. The Lodge consists of a lapa/kitchen and four fully furnished chalets, gently sloping entry ramp, convenient low-placed light switches and a large, specially adapted bathroom with all the necessary amenities. The rooms are all level with adapted door widths and bed hights.  Gentle sloping ramps making the lodge totally accesable for wheel chairs. The bathroom is adapted with rails and support bar, at all the right hight.

The hunters are loaded onto the back of the hunting vehicles with the aid of either a special lift or a ramp - depending on the chosen vehicle. Four helpers surround the lift platform at all times to stabilize the chair and assist in case something should go wrong. The lift is mostly used for people in heavy electrical wheelchairs or those who prefer not to use the ramp.

Non-hunters are more than welcome! We encourage our clients to bring their families and offer a non hunting rate that reflects this. If your non hunter does not want to follow you in the field many optional tours can be arranged. We have many opportunities from camera safari to spas and golf. We will be glad to put together an exciting program of day trips from the lodge for the non hunter.

Additional animals can be taken on all of our packages according to the following trophy prices. All additional animals are to be paid for in South Africa in cash or travelers checks. As always all animals wounded but not recovered must be paid for in full.
